Hi, I’m Jade, I’m 34 years old, and I first started training with Kru Rick over seven years ago.
As life became busier with family and work commitments, I had to step away from training for a while. During those years, I faced some of the toughest challenges of my life, including fracturing my spine in nine places. It completely changed what I believed my body would be capable of and forced me to rethink my future.

Recovery has been a long and difficult journey. I live with chronic pain every day, and I’m not sure I’ll ever consider myself fully recovered. But I made a decision that my injuries would not define who I am or what I can achieve.
When my 11-year-old daughter became interested in Muay Thai but felt nervous about starting on her own, I decided to join the family class and see what I was still capable of. From the moment I stepped back into the gym, I rediscovered the atmosphere, the community, and the excitement that made me fall in love with the sport in the first place.

I may not be as strong as I once was, but this journey is not about looking back. It’s about rebuilding, improving my fitness, and proving to myself that no setback is stronger than determination. Every session is a step forward, and every week is another reminder that progress is possible.
This isn’t about where I was. It’s about where I’m going.
