This Code of Conduct sets out the expected standards of behaviour for all members, coaches, staff, and visitors within this gym.
Our gym is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where martial arts can be trained free from discrimination, harassment, or abuse of any kind.
This Code supports our commitment to equality, safeguarding, and the core values of martial arts: discipline, respect, and integrity.
2. Core Principle
Racism and discrimination have no place in this gym.
We are committed to ensuring that every individual is treated fairly and with respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or background.
3. Expected Behaviour
All members, coaches, and visitors are expected to:
- Treat all individuals with respect and dignity at all times
- Support an inclusive and welcoming training environment
- Challenge discriminatory language or behaviour when safe to do so
- Follow instructions from coaches and gym staff
- Act in a way that upholds the reputation and integrity of the gym
- Report any concerns of discrimination or harassment promptly
4. Unacceptable Behaviour
The following behaviours are strictly prohibited within this gym:
- Racist, discriminatory, or offensive language or behaviour
- Harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any kind
- Jokes, comments, or gestures that target race, ethnicity, or culture
- Exclusion of individuals based on personal characteristics
- Retaliation against anyone who reports concerns
- Encouraging or tolerating discriminatory behaviour in any form
5. Reporting Procedure
If you experience or witness any form of discrimination:
- Report it to a coach or gym owner as soon as possible
- If you do not feel comfortable doing so, raise it privately or confidentially
- All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly
- Confidentiality will be respected wherever possible
- Retaliation against anyone reporting concerns will not be tolerated
6. Action & Consequences
Any breach of this Code of Conduct may result in:
- Verbal or written warning
- Temporary suspension from training
- Removal from membership
- Permanent ban from the gym
- Reporting to relevant governing bodies if required
Decisions will be made fairly, consistently, and in line with safeguarding principles.
7. Coaches & Staff Responsibilities
Coaches and staff are expected to:
- Lead by example in promoting inclusion and respect
- Address inappropriate behaviour immediately and appropriately
- Maintain a safe and positive training environment
- Be familiar with reporting and safeguarding procedures
- Ensure all members understand this Code of Conduct
8. Commitment to Inclusion
This gym welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and is committed to creating equal opportunities for participation and development in martial arts.
We believe diversity strengthens the sport and reflects the true spirit of martial arts.
9. Agreement
By joining or attending this gym, all members agree to uphold this Code of Conduct.
Members acknowledge that failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the gym.
